  • Great victory

    It sounds like Iran and Israel have announced a ceasefire for the time being. If anything, this will strengthen the position of the warmongers in the USA. A rash and pointless bombing mission, then “peace”. They will paint it as a stroke of genius by the master strategist in charge.

    Newspaper gossip suggests he decided to get involved because he saw the pictures of Israel shooting missiles and wanted to get in on the action. Maybe. It’s plausible.

    Rather more concerning is that he is now openly wondering if he is imagining things. Specifically things about nuclear weapons. Even he seems to recognise his mind is failing.

    What excuse do his supporters have? All those politicians who make excuses for his behaviour? The press sanitises all of his rubbish and then discusses this version as if it is desirable or even coherent.

    There are a lot of very serious people who have been taken in by a conman, a conman who is quite clearly demented. They indulge his every whim, allow him to start wars, kidnap and torture people, personally enrich himself, while destroying the government and its institutions.

    Have they invested so much into this man that they can no longer admit that he is a senile criminal, because they themselves would look extremely foolish? What is the hold he has on them? The whole country is on a complete flight from reality and everybody is cheering along. There’s no sign of them stopping.

  • The emperor’s new clothes

    The USAian media is taking the line from their emperor-god about Biden and his cancer diagnosis. Many questions about who knew what and when. This led them into one of their favourite topics: whether Biden is going senile or not. Might be the last time they can do this, even though it is now irrelevant.

    It is a real contrast to the way they fawn over Biden’s successor. He was rambling on yesterday about how he’ll win California and New York if there were “honest” elections. That was part of it, at any rate. He kept fading in and out of various topics. He doesn’t really seem to know what he is talking about and cannot maintain a single line of thought for longer than about ten seconds.

    Just straight reporting would question the dubious notion about him winning a slew of straight Democrat states. Not to mention the implied slur that the elections up to now were not honest. Then they could probe what he intends to do to make them fair. And yet all they do is faithfully sanitise this deranged, incoherent garbage.

    CBS had a story talking about the demolition of the IRS, but pulled it to put on a feature about Cajun music instead. PBS edited one of their documentaries to remove a contributor who was critical of the president.

    The press always likes to characterise itself as “telling truth to power.” They are a disgrace.

  • Nothing to see, move along

    With all the enthusiasm that is to be expected with a new blog, I set about this morning, all bright eyed and bushy tailed, and read the news.

    Five minutes later, after picking through the wreckage that those lunatics have left in the last 24 hours alone, I became tremendously cross. At this point, the only thing that could help was to make a nice cup of tea and rethink my life entirely.

    What puzzles me is the “business as usual” approach to reporting this putsch by the USAian press. I have only read the US press occasionally in the past, but it all seems so normal. The WSJ is even looking forward to “a thrill a minute”.

    Yeah, yeah. Thrills, yeah. Hmm. Me too. Can’t wait.

    Can’t they see what’s happening? The regime is purging the government and military, installing a bunch of criminals and drug addicts who happen to be loyal to The Godfather. They own the Supreme Court. They’ve got Congress stuffed with yesbeings.

    They’ve got everything in the bag and they’ve only just started.

    Couldn’t happen in the USA. Land of the free.
