  • Live by the gun

I’d never heard of Charlie Kirk until last week. His last words before he was murdered were a racial slur as he worked himself up to some transphobia.

He lived as he died. He had clear views on the possibility of being shot by a gunman:

“I think it’s worth to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year so that we can have the Second Amendment to protect our other God-given rights.”

It’s pretty clear he intends other people to take the bullets for him, but he can’t complain too much if he turns out to be one of the expendable ones.

His trade was a mish-mash of racism, sexism, homophobia and especially transphobia. Mainly, he was loyal to his president. A president who, raging at his death, promised revenge on the left for what they had done.

    The left. All of them.

Meanwhile, the FBI was trying to find out who did it. The agency has been gutted, with many sacked for being “woke” to the extent that nothing works. So the FBI looked busy while doing nothing, but basically waited until the parents of the shooter handed him in to police.

Another right-wing gun nut, as it turns out. Like the one who shot the Republican candidate last year.

Doesn’t matter. Full purge of “the left” anyway. And extra, they are trying to connect the murder to transes. They’ve gone insane, all of them.

  • Ever get the feeling you’ve been cheated?

These Epstein files are proving to be far more entertaining than I would ever have expected. Maga are really losing their minds over this story. They expected a long list of the Democrat Elite, proving them to be a bunch of rapists and paedophiles.

Now maga have realised they’ve been lied to. All that trust they put into a convicted fraudster, and it turns out he doesn’t keep his word. Not all of them have worked it out, so much of the blame is going to Bondi, who they think is covering everything up.

The uproar among the faithful is so great that Epstein’s greatest friend himself is getting involved. He posted a missive on Truth Social defending his “PERFECT administration”, which is “THE TALK OF THE WORLD”. Fair enough. He’s doing the old favourites of talking about Hunter Biden’s laptop, radical left lunatics, and so on.

The Epstein files, you see, they are simultaneously fakes created by Hillary, and they don’t exist at all. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

This won’t make very much difference. Some maga will realise they have been had and leave the fold. Most will learn a new line that they can repeat whenever the subject comes up. At least there is now some doubt. They suspect that this known rapist might be on a list with another group of suspected rapists. That’s as good as we can expect from maga.

  • Pogrom gets green light

The Supreme Court has done its thing again. If you happen to be a house, or a big pile of money, you’ve got no problem. They will protect you. If you are a mere human, it’s all got worse.

They have given the government permission to persecute absolutely anybody it wants. They did consider the rights of the individual in this, and have decided that if a person can afford a lawyer, the government should back off, for the time being, and find somebody else who can’t afford a lawyer. That’s cheaper and faster if you’ve got a quota to fill.

Even if the government was benign and benevolent, this ruling is just plain evil, but they are doing it with the full knowledge of what the government is going to do.

You can’t even excuse the fact that this judgement was delivered on a Friday, and that the justices are clearly a set of bored and lazy workers who are putting in a shoddy shift before going home for their holidays. They backed this up with directly attacking the gays, while also hindering the lower courts from blocking all the illegal stuff the government is doing. Up until now, the lower courts had been doing a good job. That will stop.

It comes on a day where Senator Taberville raved about “inner city rats” who are “try[ing] to overwhelm us… we have got to fight back.”

    And now they can.

  • No pride

The FBI is officially ignoring white collar crime. Prosecutions for various forms of fraud – including consumer scams, identity theft and insurance fraud – have dropped by a half, tendency still falling.

Only natural. The administration has been disbanding anti-corruption units and directing all its resources to immigration. Ignoring actual real crime in order to criminalise people who have done nothing wrong. It’s the way things work in the modern USA.

It’s not just immigration though. The administration attempted to ban gender affirming treatment for trans people and withdraw all funding. The usual. This was slapped down by the courts as being illegal, like everything else this government does. As a result, the FBI is now charged with investigating “abuse” or “mutilation” concerning trans people and their treatment. There is nothing to investigate of course – this is a means to harass doctors and patients, nothing to do with crime.

There has been a surge in violent crime against trans people, a result of the increasingly hysterical hatred of maga. This is not to mention the cases of cis women being attacked when trying to use the toilet. Maga has done a really good job of stirring up mindless hatred, you have to hand it to them.

They are only getting warmed up with their persecution. It’s Pride this month, so they have closed the Dupont Circle park in DC to stop the party. There will be more of this sort of thing.

  • Where will this lead?

As well as a “word of the year”, Germany also has an “unword of the year”. The latter is a word or expression that undermines human dignity and democracy, or discriminates against groups, usually with some form of euphemism. Think “collateral damage”, which means “killing civilians”.

The Unwort des Jahres 2023 was “Remigration”. This is a neutral-sounding replacement for “Ausländer raus” for the AfD and other identitarian groups. The idea behind it is to ruin the lives of millions and create a state of fear for many more, all to satisfy the paranoid hatred of racists. Nobody benefits from this insanity, but what else can you expect from blindly following baseless superstition?

The German government of the 1930s spent a lot of time working on remigration in order to get rid of the undesirables in their population. After scratching their heads over the logistics for a number of years, they decided that murdering everybody and burning the evidence was the most cost-effective option.

The State Department in the USA has found the resources to set up a new Office of Remigration. At a stroke, the US government places itself on the same level as the most extreme and radical neo-nazis in Europe. They have the same imaginary problem as 1930s Germany: millions of undesirables that the regime detests for no good reason. It’s only natural for them to form a group of ignorant racists to find some modern 21st century answers.

    I’m not optimistic.

  • Die Würde des Menschen ist unantastbar

I have a problem with the Supreme Court of the USA. This is unlikely to bother the justices there, but I’m going to complain anyway.

The issue this time is lifting the protections that 300000 Venezuelans had against deportation. The Supreme Court has decided that they shouldn’t receive the protection of the law as a group, but rather fight each case on an individual basis. This is the same solution that they found with the purge of trans soldiers from the military.

Laws control and limit human behaviour. They allow society to function by discouraging a range of destructive impulses. At the same time, they protect us and promote acceptable behaviour. Most of all, the law should be viewed as a system created by humans in order to serve humans.

There is a breed of judge which regards the law as a clever logic puzzle. It is an enclosed, (fairly) consistent system, which can produce very unexpected results, if you set your mind to it.

This approach enslaves humans to the law. So what if hundreds of thousands of people have their lives ruined? So what if it leaves them at the mercy of an over-powerful and vengeful executive? It fits in with their interpretation of the law, fine.

Germany doesn’t get everything right, but emphasising human dignity in the first line of the constitution sets a good example. It tells judges exactly where their priorities lie. The US judges are failing at their job.

  • Opportunity knocks

With great luninaries such as RFK and Pete Hegseth in the politburo, it’s easy to overlook the contributions that others make to the government of the USA. Let’s take a quick look at Kristi Noem. If you can’t place her, she’s the psychopath who shot her dog rather than take the trouble to train it.

Her day job is supposedly SoS for Homeland Security. In actual fact, she lives in a make-believe world where she can wear fancy dress and be whoever she wants for a day. A cowgirl one day, a firefighter the next. Maybe pretending to be a coastguard or – probably her favourite – an ICE agent. These excursions break up the otherwise monotonous racism of her official duties.

He latest project is to team up with a TV producer to pitch a new reality TV series. The idea is to have a group of immigrants competing against each other for the prize of US citizenship. Not just that, there will be other exciting all-USAian bonuses to the winner, such as airmiles or a lifetime’s supply of gasoline.

It’s hard to see why nobody has tried this before, aside from it being illegal, corrupt, and below basic human decency. Times have changed. With most of the administration being TV hosts by profession, including her boss, they won’t be short of experience.

It’ll be a hit. I think it will be a perfect legacy for this administration.

  • Shameful

The trans military ban is back. This was one of the first actions of Pete Hegseth. He wanted to sack all trans soldiers – over ten thousand of them – because trans people are incapable of “an honorable, truthful, and disciplined lifestyle, even in one’s personal life”.

That this is obvious nonsense was pointed out by two judges when they overturned the order. You can’t punish a group of people just because of political or ideological reasons.

Obviously, the administration escalated this to the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court has suspended the injunction against the ban. They did not offer any explanation for their decision. Nor are there any names attached to the ruling, but the 6–3 division leaves no doubt that it is on entirely doctrinal lines.

The ruling allows two things. First, the government can do as it pleases. Second, litigation can continue in parallel. This can take years and will not prevent thousands of people from having their lives ruined by this capricious government.

The Supreme Court did exceptionally give a strong ruling about returning Kilmar Abrego Garcia, which the administration is obstructing. However, this case looks to be a more typical example of their approach. They will allow the government to do anything it wants on fine procedural grounds, ignoring the real issue. The administration can salami-slice the constitution with the full blessing of the Supreme Court, regardless of what lower courts say.

The protections offered by the constitution are effectively gone.

  • The first 100 days

100 days of the new administration. Time to look at the successes.

Fox News comes up with some irrelevant nonsense. Renaming the Gulf of Mexico to the “Gulf of America”. Ending the ban on plastic straws.

Villain-in-chief gave a speech to maga fanatics, boasting about his crusade against woke ideology. A bunch of lies about his own achievements, topped off with more lies about Biden.

A journalist interviewed the president and challenged him about the fake photos the regime cooked up of Abrego Garcia. The response: “I never heard of you. I picked you. You’re not being very nice. He had MS-13 tattooed… Just say yes!”

It is pointless to try to refute the torrent of lies and misinformation from this administration. They are immune to facts, evidence and reason. As far as they are concerned, what they say is the truth, and that’s that. They have the full power of the state to back them up and they are not afraid to use this power.

In 100 days, these criminals have ruined all their international alliances. They have destroyed large sections of the US state. Science is rejected. The rule of law counts for nothing. Rampant discrimination is official policy. Freedom of speech no longer exists. Insane economics have crashed the stock market and are wrecking the economy.

Resistance to all of this has been patchy and wanting.

100 days. They’ve got a lot of time left to make it all worse.

  • Just ICE

“We will come after you and we will prosecute you. We will find you.” This is Pam Bondi, the Attorney General, threatening judges. Not terrorists, or immigrants, or even transes, but judges. Two judges have been arrested in the last couple of days on the ridiculous charge of obstructing ICE agents from deporting somebody.

Maybe difficult to top, but she has also issued a memo saying ICE can enter any home without a warrant. Who voted for that? Now they are deporting children – US citizens – while their parents are trying to stop the process.

She got the job by being a presenter on Fox News, her boss’s favourite channel, and for taking a bribe from him to avoid an investigation into his diploma mill. At some point, she worked on his first impeachment trial, but she was only one of many. That Fox job – she was Florida Attorney General at the time. She was challenged on ethical grounds about this, but lied a lot and got away with it.

Corrupt, obviously. Also racist, bloodthirsty and spiteful. And, as with so many others in the gang, a big fan of Russia. Part of her vandalism has been to disband the agencies that investigate or sanction Russian oligarchs.

Since becoming Attorney General, her job seems to be to appear on Fox News as often as possible in order to tell many obvious and unfounded lies as possible. She’s the ideal person to destroy the justice system.
